Yes, I know my show was almost 2 months ago, but we finally had the cast party last night for "Much Ado About Nothing". One of the parents suggested the kids go to Progressive Power Tumbling which is right by my house and so I thought that would be fun and then I wouldn't have to entertain them....they could do that themselves! Of course, the kids all want me to come so I went for a little bit. They just had no idea I had been a gymnast when I was little! Here's some highlights!

Camping Trip
A few of my friends and I decided to go down to Zion's National Park this weekend to go canyoneering at Birch Hallow. We didn't think anything about the fact that it was April and that there would be snow! The day started off great. It was a warm morning, we had slept well and we were all ready to start. However, the road up to the trail caused us some problems because it was very soupy mud! Our cars almost slid off the road. So we decided to leave the cars there and we'd just hike back to them.
However, my last trip to Zion's had some of those bad roads as well, see May 09 post, and so I was very worried. This is Lindsey taking care of me!
Once we got in the canyon it was covered with snow and it was all muddy. It made the hike very interesting, but very slippery too. My shoes were once white. It was fun slipping all over and trudging all over the terrain, but very tiring too.

This is our first "obstacle". It's a big bowl like area that we repelled down. Rob is at the top right of the picture next to the tree. That's where we came down. We ended up having to hike back OUT of this bowl around the side.
Here's where our journey ended. This is me looking off the edge of the first repels down to where Nate was. Everyone was calling me mountain goat because I wasn't afraid to go to the edge.

Here's Nate at the bottom of that. There was so much snow and water once he got down that we decided it probably wasn't safe for us to go the rest of the way so we had to turn around!
By the time we got back to the road we were WIPED!!!
See...
It was very fun. Not what we expected, but still fun. We now know not to go in the middle of spring! But we have lots more trips planned for the year!

I know it's because they love me, but....
So I took the day off on Friday to go on a camping trip with some friends (more on that to come), but while I was gone my students pulled a prank on me.....again. A few months ago, while I was not in my classroom they did this:
Then on April Fools, a couple of my students had been planning on pulling off a prank for quite a few weeks. They even went and talked to the head of security at the school to see if he'd open the doors for them and he said yes! Here's what I came in to:
There were 200+ balloons in there!
Then, on Friday, I had those same students in my class that pulled the April Fools joke. Again, I wasn't there and somehow the substitutes that are in my class don't ever try to stop these kids from doing these kinds of things! Plus, the head of security thinks it's funny.....but so do I. I just try not to give them too much of a reaction so that they don't KEEP doing it. So here it is:

They had 198 chairs stuffed in my office and all the shrubbery that I have on top of them. Fortunately I have students that help me clean it up!
